Product Features

Maximum Performance for Various Sources

The video and audio circuits of these Blu-ray Disc players have been further refined to bring out the best from the latest 3D content. The units are compatible with DivX Plus HD and MKV format, as well as almost any package media including DVD-Audio and SACD. As for network features, DLNA certification allows playback of various PC content. By combining compatible Pioneer AV receivers and Sound Retriever Link each optimizes lossy video and audio files through HDMI connection.

Qdeo™ Video Processor

The Blu-ray Disc players feature LSI by Marvell's Qdeo™, widely acknowledged for its high-quality video processing. It provides images free of noise and artifacts, for a truly immersive viewing experience.

Triple High Definition Noise Reduction

The Blu-ray Disc players feature three separate noise reduction circuits for enhanced video performance:

- Component Frame Noise Reduction (YNR/CNR): reduces Gaussian noise without blurring the picture

- Block Noise Reduction: reduces block noise in moving images

- Mosquito Noise Reduction: reduces random noise along the outline of the images

PQLS Bit-stream

The BDP-450 features PQLS Bit-stream, the latest version of Pioneer's PQLS jitter reduction technology. By HDMI connection with a compatible AV receiver, the Blu-ray Disc player can transmit not only CD audio and DVD/Blu-ray Disc multichannel sound, but also linear PCM, and bit-stream signals with minimum quality loss, to reproduce realistic sound.*
* Available by connecting with a compatible Pioneer AV receiver.

HDMI Dual Output

With dual HDMI output terminals, the audio and video signals can be separately transferred via the main and sub HDMI terminals. The isolation of the audio signals creates pure sound free of interference.

DLNA Certified™ (1.5)

The Blu-ray Disc player work both as a DMP (digital media player) and a DMR (digital media renderer). With the DMP function, it lets you search content in a DMS for playback on the Blu-ray Disc player. If you use it as a DMR, you can stream DMS content for playback on the Bluray Disc player. For example, you can stream a movie from your smartphone functioning as a M-DMS (Mobile DMS), and play it on the Blu-ray Disc player as a DMR.
Files protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management) cannot be played. Only play/pause can be controlled during DMR operation. AVCHD contents cannot be played via LAN.

YouTube Video/Picasa on TV

You can easily view YouTube video or Picasa photos on your TV screen by connecting the Blu-ray Disc player to the internet.

Stream Smoother

Stream Smoother is a video adjustment feature for watching network content on your home theatre. It reduces block noise and mosquito noise on low bit rate video content such as YouTube, offering finer and clearer images. The Blu-ray Disc player automatically detects the source type, and turns Stream Smoother on or off accordingly.

Sound Retriever Link

The feature optimizes the quality of compressed audio files by allowing compatible Pioneer AV receiver to access the original file information via HDMI connection.
