Turntable for home
I have listened to vintage Pioneer direct drive turntables, and I find no difference between belt drive and direct drives. Turntables are returning, but the present scenario is such, that there are viirtually no service technicians for turntables in India. It will take a long time again for good turntable technicians to come up again, and that too it all depends upon how popular the turntables do get. Under such circumstances, it would be nice if Pioneer brings out turntables that has the motor as the only electric/ electronic part in the turntable and power supply and other electronics including servo control outside the main unit, somewhat similar to Project, Rega and Music Hall. The pre amp is always best not to be included in the turntable.
