Pioneer Electronics is seeking a Hardware Architect for Automotive Aftermarket Products. As a Hardware Architect for Automotive Aftermarket Products, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and optimization of cutting-edge hardware solutions for automotive aftermarket products. You will be responsible for creating robust and innovative hardware architectures that enhance the performance, functionality, and reliability of our automotive products. Your expertise will contribute to the development of next-generation systems, ensuring they meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.

Job description
Responsibilities:
  • Hardware Architecture Design: Develop and design efficient and scalable hardware architectures for automotive aftermarket products, with a particular focus on camera-related solutions. This includes defining system components, subsystems, interfaces, and interconnections. A key element of the role would involve working closely with ODM to bring out products with robust designs delivered within aggressive timelines
  • Requirement Analysis: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and designers, to gather and analyze hardware requirements, especially in the context of camera systems. Translate these requirements into clear architectural specifications and design guidelines.
  • Camera Technology Evaluation: Continuously assess emerging camera technologies, sensors, image processing algorithms, and related components to identify the most suitable options for improving product performance, cost-effectiveness, and reliability. Stay updated on industry trends and standards specific to camera solutions.
  • System Integration: Ensure seamless integration of camera hardware components with existing systems or platforms. Collaborate with software architects and engineers to define interfaces and compatibility requirements, optimizing the overall system performance.
  • Prototype Development: Lead the development and testing of hardware prototypes, focusing on camera-related functionalities. Evaluate their functionality, performance, and adherence to design specifications. Collaborate with the engineering team to refine prototypes and resolve any hardware-related issues.
  • Design Verification and Validation: Define and implement testing procedures to verify and validate camera-related hardware designs. Conduct thorough testing to ensure compliance with performance, safety, and quality standards specific to camera solutions.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Create comprehensive technical documentation, including specifications, design documents, test plans, and reports, with a specific focus on camera technologies. Communicate architectural concepts, design decisions, and implementation guidelines to stakeholders and team members effectively.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and product managers, to ensure a holistic approach to product development, especially regarding camera solutions. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers when required.
  • Regulatory & Quality Compliance: Ensure that camera-related hardware designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and certifications, such as ISO, SAE, and FCC, in the context of camera solutions. Stay up to date with changing regulations and implement necessary changes to meet compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience of over 5 years as a hardware architect or a similar role with an overall experience of 10+ years, preferably in the automotive industry or related aftermarket sector, with a focus on camera technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware design principles, digital and analog circuitry, PCB layout, component selection, power management concepts and signal integrity, specifically related to camera & telematics solutions, with experience of cost optimization of bill of materials.
  • Proficiency in hardware description languages (HDL) such as VHDL or Verilog.
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and embedded systems.
  • Experience with simulation and analysis tools (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB, Simulink) in the context of camera systems.
  • Solid understanding of industry standards and regulations related to automotive hardware development and camera solutions from ground up.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of automotive aftermarket products, such as infotainment systems, telematics devices, diagnostic tools, and camera-related solutions.
  • Experience in working with 3rd party design and manufacturing houses
  • Good working knowledge and experience for product qualification and certification
