With a focus on innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction, we are expanding our presence in the Indian automotive market. To facilitate this growth, we have established a new Research & Development (R&D) team in India and are seeking a dynamic individual to join us as an Associate Director – R&D

Role Overview:

As an Associate Director - Engineering Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the project management and development of key product lines within the Indian automotive market. Reporting to the India Product and R&D Head, you will be responsible for overseeing project planning, resource management, team recruitment, development, and testing. Moreover, this role will entail actively managing day-to-day execution, ensuring adherence to project timelines, and providing comprehensive status reports.

Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic project plans for the development of key product lines within the Indian automotive market.
  • Lead and manage a cross-functional team of R&D developers and testers, ensuring efficient resource allocation and effective task delegation.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop team members to enhance their capabilities and skills.
  • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to launch, ensuring compliance with quality standards and timelines.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer program management, fostering strong relationships and understanding client needs.
  • Conduct regular status meetings, provide progress reports, and address any project-related issues or risks promptly.
  • Drive integration and delivery initiatives, ensuring seamless implementation of products and services.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field. An MBA or equivalent qualification is a plus.
  • Proven experience (14-18 years) in project management within the automotive industry, preferably in infotainment, audio, or aftermarket devices.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to engage with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in driving sales initiatives and managing customer programs.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Prior experience in working within the Indian automotive market is highly advantageous.

Location and Reporting:

This role is based in India and reports directly to the India Product and R&D Head.
