System Firmware Update Instructions for Pioneer Dashcam VREC-Z820DC

Updating HIGH Model (VREC-Z820) from SD Card

If you're using a new SD card that hasn't been used in the same model before, it must be formatted by the DVR before updating the DVR firmware.

If the card is already being used with Z820, you may skip the format procedure.

To format a new SD card:

1. Insert the SD card into the DVR slot.
2. A prompt to format the card will appear on the DVR screen.
3. Click the "Format" button on the DVR.
4. Remove the SD card from the DVR once format completes.

To upgrade the DVR firmware:

• Copy the following file to the root directory of the SD card.
  • Name of File: FW_1015.bin
• Remove power of DVR and Insert the SD card into the designated slot.
• Apply power to the DVR.
• The DVR screen will display "Updating Firmware ...”
• Once the upgrade is successful, DVR will reboot, and will ask for set the language & time & LED will be green post select these mentioned settings.
• You can verify the updated version number from the DVR UI or mobile application’s Settings page.
