Pioneer may disclose personal information in case it transfers all or part of its business or assets or causes the same to be succeeded (including by merger, acquisition, joint venture, reorganization, company split, dissolution and liquidation). As described in Section 2, Pioneer will receive the personal information listed in Section 2(i)(b)(c). Other personal information including location information and videos and images recorded by the Product will not be automatically sent to Pioneer. Pioneer will store this data listed in 2(i)(b) in cloud services as described in Section 5(b). As a result, some types of personal information may be processed outside the EEA. In this respect, Pioneer is committed to ensuring an adequate and sufficient level of protection for your personal information, in particular by relying on an adequacy decision under Article 45 of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) for the country to which data are transferred, by concluding standard contractual clauses under Article 46(2) of the GDPR, or by any other appropriate safeguards provided for in Chapter V of the GDPR.

Retention of personal information
Pioneer will retain the personal information described in Sections 2(i)(b) and (c) until the purpose of handling the information as described in Section 2 is achieved. The criteria used to determine the retention period include:
- The duration of our ongoing relationship with you,
- Whether we have any applicable legal obligations, and
- Whether it is necessary for the performance of the contract that you are a party to.

Security Control Measures
Pioneer takes reasonable efforts to ensure appropriate security control measures to prevent leakage, etc. of such personal information, by implementing various information security measures such as:
- Development and improvement of the information protection system,
- Educational/awareness-raising activities for employees,
- Management of entrance and exit to and from the area where personal information is processed,
- Control of access to personal information, and
- Introduction of anti-virus software.
Furthermore, Pioneer will make reasonable efforts to continuously maintain and improve its information protection system to ensure that necessary departments within Pioneer, which are involved in providing services, appropriately implement safety management measures as part of the development of products and services.
When Pioneer provides personal information concerning the Services to recipients, Pioneer will request such recipients to take appropriate security control measures.

- Information Concerning Children
The Services to which the Policy applies are intended for use by users who are adults or who satisfy the qualifications for driving an automobile or the like, such as an age requirement, in the countries where they reside. Accordingly, this Policy applies to the users who satisfy such qualifications (including users who purchase the Product and use Pioneer Dash Camera App to support drivers). The Services are not intended for use by children.
Pioneer will not knowingly collect online personal information from children under the age of 16.
When exercising your rights we may ask for information about Pioneer products and apps as well as a copy of your identification documents to verify your identity during the process. For inquiries about your rights, how to exercise them, and other enquiries regarding this Policy, please refer to Section 9.
“Child/children” used herein includes children under the age of 16. The age requirement to be treated as a child may differ depending on the country where the children reside. Children may be granted the right to withdraw or revoke their consent, or request deletion of their personal information, through persons with parental authority, guardians, etc. or other lawful agents of the relevant children, under the laws and regulations of the relevant country. - Amendment to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be amended from time to time in accordance with the business circumstances of Pioneer. Any amendment to this Policy will be posted or displayed on the websites or applications of Pioneer, and become effective on the effective date or notification date thereof.
Appendix A- specific provisions for residents of the United States, including California, and for residents of Canada
This United States (“U.S.”) and Canada Privacy Notice (this “Supplementary Notice”) describes how Pioneer India Electronics Private Limited and Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. (collectively referred to as Pioneer in this Appendix) collect, use, and disclose personal information obtained through the Services, as well as your choices regarding such personal information. This Appendix supplements our Policy and applies to residents of U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws (each, a “Covered State”), including the California Consumer Privacy Act (the “CCPA”) and Canada.
For purposes of this Supplementary Notice, unless otherwise stated, “personal information” means information relating to an identified or identifiable individual and does not include aggregate information or information that does not identify you.
Vehicle owners and users must understand that they may be required to obtain the consent of passengers before using the Services to comply with applicable law, and must pledge to do so when using our Products and Pioneer Dash Camera App.
If there is a conflict between this Supplementary Notice and the Policy or any other Pioneer Group policy, statement, or notice, this Supplementary Notice will prevail as to Covered States and Canadian residents’ use of the Services.
Unless otherwise noted, the disclosures in this Supplementary Notice cover our current practices and activities in the twelve (12) months before the Effective Date.
- What Personal Information Does Pioneer Collect, Use, and Disclose?
Pioneer Group collects, uses, and discloses personal information as described in the Categories of Personal Information, Purposes of Processing and Legal Basis, and Recipients and Sharing of Personal Information sections of the Policy and as described below.

When you use the Service, it will collect the following information from Pioneer Dash Camera App, the Products, and your device to provide you with various functions contained in the Service and maintain such functions. These types of information are stored in your terminal devices (such as a smartphone where Pioneer Dash Camera App is installed) and will not be sent to Pioneer or any third parties.
- Identifiers, such as serial numbers, online identifiers, and other similar identifiers.
- Audio, electronic, visual, or similar information, such as images and videos recorded by the Products.

- Geolocation information, including precise geolocation, which is considered sensitive personal information.

Under the CCPA and for purposes of this Supplementary Notice, including the following chart, “third party” does not refer to our service providers, which use the personal information solely to provide us services, such as a company that delivers emails to our customers on our behalf and does not use those email addresses for other purposes.
- Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Pioneer does not sell or share your personal information obtained through the Services for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising.
- How Long Does Pioneer Retain My Personal Information?
Your personal information will be retained as long as necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected and in accordance with Pioneer information retention policies. Pioneer’s retention policies are generally based on legally required retention periods and/or retention periods that Pioneer determines are necessary or advisable to operate Pioneer’s business.
- Opting out of Advertisement Delivery
As described in Section 2 above, Pioneer does not engage in selling or sharing under the CCPA.
- Opt-Out Preference Signals
The Service does not use personal information for selling personal information or sharing personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. Accordingly, the Service does not respond to Opt-Out Preference Signals, such as Global Privacy Control.
- What are My Rights regarding My Personal Information?
Residents of Covered States and Canada have certain rights about your personal information. Those rights include:
- Right to Confirm, Know, and Access – You may have the right to confirm whether we are processing your personal information or to access your personal information. Residents of certain Covered States may also request details about third parties to which we have disclosed personal information. Residents of California have the right to request the categories of personal information we collected about you, the categories of sources from which personal information is collected, the business or commercial purposes for collecting personal information, the categories of third parties to whom we disclose personal information, and the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to Data Portability – You may have the right to request a copy of your personal information in a portable and readily usable format.
- Deletion Request Rights – You have the right to request that we delete all or selected personal information that we maintain about you.
- Correction Request Rights – You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- Selling and Sharing for Targeted Advertising Rights – You may have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information and the sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising. Pioneer does not sell or share personal information processed through the Services and so does not offer the opportunity to exercise this right.
- Opt Out of Profiling Rights – You may have the right to opt out of profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning your economic situation, health, personal preferences, interests, reliability, behavior, location, or movements. Pioneer does not profile individuals through the Services in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects under applicable state privacy laws and so does not offer the opportunity to exercise this right.
- Sensitive Personal Information Rights – California residents have the right to limit the use and disclosure of their sensitive personal information. Pioneer does not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes to which the right to limit use and disclosure applies under the CCPA and so does not offer the opportunity to exercise this right.
- Appeal Rights – If Pioneer denies your privacy rights request and you believe Pioneer denied your request in error, you may appeal for reconsideration of your request.
- Non-Discrimination – Pioneer will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights.
- How do I Exercise My Rights?
To exercise the rights available to you in relation to personal information provided as part of contacting Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. for support for the Products and/or Pioneer Dash Camera App, please submit a request through our form here or call our toll-free number at 1 (800) 421-1613.
Only Covered State and Canadian residents, or an agent authorized to act on behalf of a Covered State and Canadian resident, may submit a personal information request (“PIR”) related to their privacy rights. Guardians of Covered State and Canadian residents who are minors are also entitled to submit a PIR on behalf of their minor children. If an authorized agent is submitting a PIR on behalf of a Covered State and Canadian resident, we will require evidence of written permission from the Covered State and Canadian resident, certified under penalty of perjury, for the agent to act on behalf of the Covered State and Canadian resident.
Pioneer may need to verify your identity before your request can be processed. Our verification process generally involves the matching of three pieces of identifying information provided in the PIR to the personal information already maintained by us, but may vary depending on the sensitivity of the personal information at issue and other circumstances. If you submitted your PIR online and you indicated on your PIR form that you want your personal information deleted, we will ask you separately to confirm your decision to delete before we delete the personal information.
We will be unable to fulfill a PIR unless we can verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm that the personal information relates to you. If we cannot verify your request from your PIR, we may request that you supply us with additional information that will allow us to verify your request. If your PIR is denied/rejected, we will inform you in writing of the reason. We will use personal information provided in a verified PIR only to process and respond to the PIR and for no other purpose.
