Pioneer India Announces Revised MRPs After GST Rate Cut for Car Touch Screens

We Pioneer India Private Limited are pleased to take this opportunity to inform you, in backdrop of recent overhaul of GST rates and pursuance of Instruction dated September 18, 2025, issued by Weights and Measures Unit, Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India, under missive I-10/14/2020-W&M, as authorized supplier or distributor or wholesaler or retailer or supplier, as the case may be, of our products, about recent GST rate rationalization recommendations proposed to be effectuated from upcoming Monday, i.e., from September 22, 2025, as unanimously adopted and decided by GST Council in its 56th meeting recently held on September 03, 2025.

Pursuant to GST council meeting recommendations, the CBIC has recently issued Notification No. 09/2025-Central Tax (Rate) dated September 17, 2025, notifying recommended two-tier based GST rates on different products according to its HSN. Consequently, on account of such new GST rates, Maximum Retail Price (MRP) of our following products stand reduced to the revised rates correspondingly indicated to such product:

In commensurate with such revised MRP on account of reduced GST rates, you are requested to accordingly pass on the benefit of such reduced rates to the end-consumer. In this regard, may your kind attention be drawn to the fact that GST is a consumption-based tax, and also to the anti-profiteering provision of Section 171 of CGST Act, 2017, which categorically ordains that any reduction in GST rates shall be passed on to the recipient by way of commensurate reduction in prices.

Accordingly, you are advised to comply and undertake appropriate actions on your part so as to enable and ensure the benefit of reduced GST rates be passed on to the end-consumers by way of undertaking supply and sale of such products at revised MRP indicated hereinabove or at a price lower than that. Should you fail to undertake such compliance and appropriate actions at your end so as to ensure such benefit be passed on to the end-consumer, it may result in unsolicited, but serious, legal repercussions in backdrop of provisions prescribed under CGST Act, 2017, Legal Metrology Act, 2009, and Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

Further please be informed that we shall be updating the labelling with revised MRP for all units shipped out effective22nd September 2025.

Amongst other appropriate actions, some illustrative actions that you may undertake are as follows: -

  • Ensure that all billings from September 22, 2025 for the supply and sale of the above products reflect the reduction in GST rates.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records of billings, price changes, calculations, and communications to demonstrate compliance to any statutory authority.
  • Clearly offer the products at the revised MRP and communicate the revised MRP to customers/consumers.
  • Do not engage in trade practices intended to unjustly retain the benefit of reduced GST rates.

We intend to register our sincere and unwavering faith and trust in you as our authorized suppliers, who would not only undertake requisite actions at their respective ends to ensure compliance with, but also cheerfully join us hand in hand to pass on the benefits of reduced GST rates to consumers or customers, as the case may be.

Please undertake the appropriate actions to ensure supply and sale of the above products at the revised MRP (or lower) with effect from 22nd September 2025. Failure to comply may attract legal consequences under the CGST Act, 2017, Legal Metrology Act, 2009, and the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
